HOW TO MAKE AN EQUIPMENT MACRO IN 10 EASY STEPS

There were some questions that came up about how to make equipment swaping macros so here is a walk through on how to do it.  There are some tips at the bottom.  I use profitreborn UI so it may look alittle different for you depending on your UI.

1. First to open a new macro go to EQ2 window, Social, Macros then choose a new macro.  Then choose an icon fitting whatever your doing.

2. Name the Macro something.

3. Choose from the list of options under "macro step".  For equipment swaping you will want to use equip item.

  • Command = A / command like /target <name> or /gsay hi

  • Spell/ability = allows you to put one of your spells or abilities as a macro

  • Equip Item = allows you to equip the chosen item when the macro is used.

  • Use Item = allows you to use an inventory item (such as a potion) when you use the macro.

4. Once equip item is chosen, click Add Step.

5. Open your inventory, and find the item that you wish to put in the macro.  In the example I am doing heat resists.

6.  Drag the Item to the empty box next to <drag item here to equip>.

7.  Make sure your macro step is still on equip item and then click add step.

8. Repeat steps 5 - 7 till you get all of your gear into the macro.

9.  If you have a piece of jewelry that has two slots (such as rings and wrists). You need to choose left and right respectively for each peice, that way it won't try to equip it all into one slot.

10.  When you are finished.  Test the macro to make sure it works, then click ok.  Once your done put it on your hot bar and don't forget to make another macro to reequip your normal gear!

Some tips:

I've found it best to do one macro to swap out your armor, and another macro to swap out your jewelry.

When you are swapping out only a few pieces of jewelry make sure that on both your resist gear macro, and your regular gear macro that the "finger" or "wrist" right or left is correct.
